Incident means Mountain Course will remain closed until 7pm
Roads around the Mountain Course will remain closed following an incident on the first day of the 2024 Manx Grand Prix.
An extension has been granted to the Clerk of the Course to keep all roads around the course shut until 7pm (18 August).
They had been due to re-open by 6pm.
It follows a red flag incident at 4.50pm in the Classic Super Bike and Senior Session which stopped all action on the course.
People are being reminded it is an offence to enter closed roads.
Update: At 6.39pm the roads open car was released from St Ninian's to begin opening the roads through to the Bungalow.
A road closure will remain in place between the Bungalow and Creg-ny-Baa whilst a police investigation takes place.
The Isle of Man Constabulary says this will be for a 'significant' period of time.
People who are travelling on this evening's Steam Packet sailing have been asked to make their way to the boat at 'normal road speeds'.
Check-in will be kept open as long as possible to enable as many people as possible to get onto the sailing.
