'Menopause still a taboo subject', says student

568 women responded to Sarah Vondy's survey

A third-year university student from the Isle of Man is calling on government to do better for women going through menopause in the workplace. 

Sarah Vondy, who is studying public health, conducted a survey with 568 women aged between 45-55 about dealing with menopause in the workplace.

She found more women employed in the corporate sector felt support as opposed to women in government roles. 

"There was a significant difference between how those employed by government experienced menopause in the workplace and cooperate." - Sarah Vondy

Miss Vondy also believes there's still a misconception around menopause which some labelling it "a taboo":
