Less meat being sent off-Island as well
As it steps up its efforts to ensure supplies are maintained, Isle of Man Meats says it expects this week to be a record-breaking one for beef production at the meat plant.
It adds that measures have been put in place to ensure staff can continue to work safely.
Isle of Man Meats chair Tim Baker MHK says there has been increased demand for its products since Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan urged the Isle of Man's population to shop local more during the coronavirus outbreak.
He says more of its products will stay on-Island as well, in addition to output being increased:
