Estimated visitor spend of £2.1m
A 50% increase in visitors to last year’s Southern 100 contributed around £1.5 million to the Island’s economy.
So say government chiefs, after figures revealed just under 5,000 people attended the event last summer.
Department for Enterprise officials say, on average, visitors spent £434 each while here.
Chief marshal Peter Chadwick says one particular aspect of the Southern brings an added appeal.
