Law has changed in England and Wales
The legal age for marriage in the Isle of Man is still 16 with parental consent.
From today 16 and 17-year-olds can't get married, or be in a civil partnership, in England and Wales even if their parents give them permission.
The change came into force there to help protect vulnerable children.
Manx Radio has asked government if changes to the laws are being considered over here and is awaiting a response.
