MLC welcomes move after 'personal crusade'
Important habitats, and their birdlife, on the east coast of the Isle of Man will be protected for the future.
Eighty two acres of Marine Drive - between Douglas Head lighthouse and Port Soderick - have been designated as an Area of Special Scientific Interest.
MLC Bill Henderson led the initiative to get the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture to put the ASSI in place.
He's described it as a 'personal crusade' and says it will make a real difference:
