Government invites proposals, existing and new, from private enterprise
The multi-million pound plan to develop a marina for Ramsey Bay can now formally progress, according to a political member in the Department of Infrastructure.
Yesterday, government launched an expressions of interests phase, inviting developers to come forward with 'major' plans to improve the Island's harbour facilities.
MHK Tim Baker, who has political responsibility for ports, says recent proposals demonstrate there is 'clearly an appetite' from within the private sector:
Directors of the Ramsey Bay scheme, who unveiled their plans to the public earlier this year, told Manx Radio they had been waiting months for government to officially begin the expressions process.
