She was the official accompanist at the Manx Guild for 25 years
Marilyn Cannell, who for a quarter of a century was the official accompanist at the Manx Guild, has died.
A retired teacher, methodist local preacher and an accomplished musician, she was 76 and lived in Kirk Michael.
She died peacefully at Hospice, surrounded by her family.
Marilyn was also a long-time contributor to Manx Radio’s Thought for the Day and Just a Minute features.
She had first sung in the Guild at the age of seven:
