March sentence for Douglas man caught with cannabis and ketamine

25-year-old has 18 previous convictions for drugs

A Douglas man who was caught with more than £600 of cannabis will be sentenced later this year.

Jake James Bostock, of Loch Promenade, was stopped by officers on Cronk-y-Berry Drive on 11 October last year.

He had white powder around his nose and lips; when officers searched him they found 60 grams of the Class B substance as well as two grams of ketamine.

At Douglas Courthouse the 25-year-old pleaded guilty to two offences; the court was told he has 18 previous convictions for drugs offences.

A social enquiry report has been requested before Bostock is sentenced on 13 March; he’s been bailed until that date.

Update: Bostock was sentenced to 13 weeks custody, suspended for two years, and handed a two-year Suspended Sentence Supervision Order. He must also pay £125 in prosecution costs.
