Vessel's first journey next week
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company says Manxman will takeover the Ben-My-Chree's full schedule in mid-to-late October.
It plans to keep Ben-My-Chree in operation for the first few months so it can act as an immediate backup in case of any issues.
The government-owned ferry operator says Manxman's first trips to Liverpool are dependent on the completion of the new terminal there.
Yesterday it was announced the new vessel's first commercial sailing would be next Thursday, 17 August.
Dave will be on the first sailing with his family:
If you want to sail on Manxman, but can't think of an excuse to go to Heysham, you could be in with a chance next month.
She'll undertake a coastal cruise in Manx waters on the 17th of September.
