Manxman to sail to Liverpool as ferry terminal work completed

Issue with mooring lines resolved after weeks of delays

Manxman will be carrying passengers to Liverpool this weekend as work on the new ferry terminal has been completed.

There had been several weekends' worth of disruption on the route due to the project.

During berthing trials with the Steam Packet's Manxman and Ben my Chree last year it was discovered that, at lower tides, mooring lines clashed with a dolphin fender.

The work was due to be completed earlier this month, but was held up as poor weather affected the availability of a heavy lifting crane.

In the long-term it's hoped the work will lead to 'fewer disruptions to the schedule and a more robust connection between the Isle of Man and Liverpool'.

The first Merseyside sailing today (29 November) is due to depart Douglas at 8am, arriving at Liverpool for 12:15pm.
