The Steam Packet Company has confirmed the problem has now been resolved, and its flagship will operate on the 9.15am crossing from Douglas to Heysham.
Managing Director Brian Thomson has apologised to customers affected by the disruption, and thanked them for their patience and understanding while the issue has been dealt with.
He also thanked the company's engineering team for their work on the repair.
No further details about the nature of the technical issue have been released.
