The significant journey from halfway across the world is complete

The Manxman has arrived in Manx waters and berthed in Douglas Harbour at approximately 9.10am. (2 July)

It follows a lengthy journey from South Korea, where construction of the flagship vessel began in August 2021.

Manxman now takes over the role the Ben-my-Chree carried out for the last 25-years.

The Ben-my-Chree now becomes a reserve boat for the Steam Packet's fleet.

As part of formalities, Manxman was christened at a ceremony at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard where she was constructed in Ulsan.

Manxman is the fourth vessel in the fleet, the others being Manannan, Ben-my-Chree and MV Arrow.

The total spend on the ship came in at £78 million, in comparison to the Ben-my-Chree's £24 million.

Members of the public flocked in their hundreds, eagerly anticipating the arrival.
