Manx Telecom and Chinese firm Huawei have signed a contract to install a 4G network on the Island.
Huawei has already deployed 102 commercial 4G networks around the world including over 90 capital cities and 9 global financial centres.
The new technology will mean super-fast access to the internet via 4G smartphones and tablets, and is set to be rolled out by MT next year.
Chief Minister Allan Bell witnessed the signing of the agreement at lunchtime and says the deal emphasises the international aspects of trying to expand the Manx economy:-
