Hitchcock film screened at Lorient festival with local singer accompanying
A silent film set in the Isle of Man has been shown at an international Celtic festival, with a specially written soundtrack.
The Manxman was directed by Alfred Hitchcock in 1929 and Manx singer Cairistiona Dougherty joined the Alain Pennec band to accompany the film.
The Isle of Man and Cornwall are both honoured nations at the Interceltique festival de Lorient this year and the movie was largely filmed in the English county.
Cairistiona says it was a fascinating project which she hopes can come to the Island some time:
