Manx Radio nominated for three UK radio awards

Nods for best newsreader, best news story or coverage and best sports coverage

Manx Radio's been nominated three times for awards celebrating commercial radio news across the UK.

The shortlist has just been announced for the Commercial Radio News Awards - in association with IRN and Sky News.

The station has received nods for best sports coverage of FC Isle of Man's debut season and best news story or coverage for its reporting of the Island on the verge of lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic.

News editor Sian Cowper has also been nominated for newsreader of the year for a station with an audience of under 1.5 million.

The winners will be announced at a special ceremony at Sky's west London HQ next month.
