Manx optometrist warns against skipping children's eye tests

Charity and opticians encourage more kids to have eye checks

The Chairman of the Isle of Man Association of Optometrists warns children could face problems in later life if they don't get their eyes tested regularly.

The Manx Blind Welfare Society is working with opticians on the Island to encourage more kids to have eye examinations, rewarding them with a teddy bear.

11 Manx opticians and Noble's Hospital are taking part in the intiative.

Ian Hodgson says not correcting eyesight problems at a young age can limit a person's career options.
