Seven officers will undergo course in use of rifles, handguns and tasers
A number of Island police officers are undergoing specialist firearms training.
The course is being conducted on-Island, and will prepare seven members of the Constabulary in the use of automatic rifles, handguns and tasers.
They'll replace specialised officers who've recently retired.
The Department of Home Affairs says it's part of a commitment to keeping the public safe, and remain disposed for 'rare' eventualities where armed response is required.
