Freestyle and Dexcom systems to be rolled out
Sensors to help those with type 1 diabetes monitor their glucose levels are being offered by health authorities on the Island.
Rollout of the Freestyle Libre and Dexcom G6 systems will reduce the number of finger prick tests required daily.
They'll also allow parents to check their child's blood sugar remotely, through alerts sent to their mobile phones.
The sensors will become available here this month on prescription through the NHS this month for those who qualify.
You can find out more about the eligibility criteria on the Manx Radio website.
Health minister David Ashford says not all type 1 diabetics will qualify, and eligibility will be an objective clinical decision based on current UK guidance.
