Manx National Heritage launches new visitor welcome hub

Located in former Barclays building in Market Square

A new visitor welcome hub has opened in the south of the Island.

Manx National Heritage has transformed the former Barclays building in Market Square.

The ground floor now houses a 'vibrant and accessible welcome hub where visitors and residents can access information, purchase admission tickets for all Manx National Heritage sites, and buy travel tickets'.

There is also a new retail shop, with every purchase made directly supporting MNH's charitable work.

The organisation says that during quieter months, the ground floor space will also be used for 'a programme of small-scale events, including workshops, creative sessions and ‘Meet the Maker’ events, bringing people together to celebrate Manx creativity, craftsmanship and culture'.

The second phase of the project will see the upper floor developed into self-contained office accommodation for approximately 8-10 people.

Manx National Heritage says it wanted to ensure 1 Market Square was opened ahead of this year's TT.
