Local scene is growing
The tradition of song is being celebrated across the Island today, as part of the first ever Manx Music Day.
The initiative is being promoted by Culture Vannin, the 2018 Year of Our Island programme, and Manx Radio - which is featuring a variety of artists and tunes all day alongside special programming.
It's hoped the day will bring culture, both traditional and contemporary, to a wider audience at home and abroad.
Matt Kelly and David Kilgannon kicked off proceedings on the Breakfast Show this morning.
As well as premiering a brand new jingle for the station, David explained how Manx music is earning a broader appeal internationally.
