Premiere of 'CATCH' reignites hopes of Manx film revival
A cinema superstar and Manx resident says those who have come to live on the Island could form the backbone of a local film industry revival.
John Rhys-Davies stars in the short film, 'CATCH', produced by local filmmaker Dave Armstrong.
It was premiered in Douglas this week.
Manx Radio's John Moss spoke to Mr Rhys-Davies and Mr Armstrong:
The Isle of Man Arts Council says: "[CATCH] was a true showcase of Manx creativity and cinematic ambition. Shot and produced entirely on the Isle of Man, including jaw-dropping locations like the Calf of Man, CATCH delivered suspense and wow-factor in equal measure, demonstrating just how stunning our island can be on the big screen.
"Supported by the Isle of Man Arts Council’s Film Fund, the film features an outstanding cast: Lucy Russell, John Rhys-Davies, Ammar Haj Ahmad, and Nigel Thijs, all bringing depth and intrigue to this island set thriller."
