Manx company helping those in rural areas of Papua New Guinea

Around a million pounds will also be shared between 80 local and global charities

A Manx company is celebrating 40 years in business by giving away £3m - including to help those in rural areas of Papua New Guinea.

Ramsey-based AFD Software - also known as the Postcode People - made the announcement at an event marking its anniversary last night.

Around a million pounds will be shared between 80 local and global charities, while the other £2million will be used to buy an aircraft for the Mission Aviation Fellowship, which works to help remote and isolated communities around the world.

This is not AFD Software’s first gift to the charity - they celebrated the 25th anniversary of the company in 2008 by buying them a Kodiak aircraft which is still serving isolated communities in Borneo
