Manx Care to reorganise cancelled board meeting

September meeting called off due to guidance issued ahead of election

Manx Care says it will hold an extra board meeting later this year to make up for the one its chair cancelled. 

It had been due to meet in September. 

However this was shelved due to guidance issued to the public service about the pre-election period.

In response to an FoI request the health body says its 'commitment to hold six board meetings in public during the 2026/27 financial year remains unchanged'. 

It added: "Subject to scheduling and availability, an additional board meeting in public will be arranged in December 2026 to replace the deferred meeting."

In its FoI response Manx Care said the chair of the board, Dr Wendy Reid, made the decision in accordance with the guidance issued and was not required to seek the view or permission of the health and social care minister. 

The General Election will take place on Thursday, 24 September.
