Current staffing levels 'insufficient' to offer service
Manx Care says its staffing levels are still insufficient to offer home births on the Isle of Man.
In its July board papers, the healthcare provider says it will liaise with the Attorney Generals Chambers to extend the suspension of home births for the foreseeable future.
Earlier this year, the Tynwald Commissioner for Administration found the Department of Health and Social Care had breached its statutory obligations by not offering home births on the Isle of Man.
Manx Care says there has since been some success with recruitment, but it cannot yet resume a safety staffed service.
