Manx Care insists the closure of a ward at Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital will only be temporary.
Martin Ward will close for around four weeks at the end of the month to deal with a 'pest control issue'.
It comes after the number of beds in the ward was reduced by 30 percent in August.
But Manx Care's CEO, Teresa Cope, assures it will reopen after the work:
