A whistle-blower highlighted death threats are among the issues faced
The Island's health service has condemned reports of severely abusive behaviour that was highlighted by a whistle-blower at Lloyds Pharmacy on the Isle of Man.
Death threats and being spat at are among the issues raised that they've claimed pharmacy staff are subjected to on a weekly basis.
It's something the whistle-blower in question - who's asked to remain anonymous - believes management within the establishments aren't taking seriously.
Manx Care say whilst Lloyds Pharmacy employees are not their staff, and the service is contracted - it's not their role to put measures in place to ensure Lloyds staffs' safety but has labelled the behaviour as 'absolutely unacceptable'.
In a statement to Manx Radio, Lloyds Pharmacy says it takes the safety of colleagues and patients very seriously and have extensive support packages in place with 24/7 confidential counselling and advice.
It adds it's working closely with Manx Care to find ways to resolve staffing issues.
