Unions reject the offer on the table

Manx Care says it will hold talks with union representatives 'imminently' after a four per cent pay offer was declined.

It says it's currently considering 'all of the options' available to it but maintains that the offer is 'considerably higher' than the initial one per cent it budgeted for.
 
The health body says it matches an offer agreed in Scotland and exceeds a three per cent pay increase to NHS staff in England.
 
It also claims that if accepted the uplift would have given Manx colleagues anywhere between a 14 per cent and 29 per cent pay lead over comparable positions in England.

The Royal College of Nursing - one of the unions which balloted its members over the proposed pay deal - has described the four per cent offer as falling 'well short'.
