Manx buses income eclipses £4.1million

Climbs from £3.5m in 2015/16

It's been revealed the total income from bus tickets on the Island in the last twelve months has eclipsed £4million for the first time.

The statistics were published by the Department of Infrastructure, following a Freedom of Information request submitted this week.

The £4.1million figure includes tickets purchased on the buses themselves, as well as pre-paid fares, and the different 'go card' variations.

Equivalent figures in 2015/16 totalled just over £3.5million, which climbed to just under £4 million the following year, but now sits at over £4.1million for the most recent financial year.

The DoI has also issued a break down of the statistics, including the revenue from 'Go School' student cards.
