Flagship high street fundraising venture
There's a new name on the Island's main shopping street.
The Manx Blind Welfare Society has today opened the doors of its first store, between well-known high street names on Strand Street.
The charity has completely refurbished the unit and branded it a VIP store, which is shorthand for Visually Impaired - as well as Very Important - Person!
It's hoped income from the outlet, staffed by volunteers, will substantially fund the Society's future work in the community.
At the launch event last night (10 Nov) Society chairman Charles Fargher said it will also serve as a meeting place for members:
Football fans urged to drink responsibly
Residents still want to see what wind farm will look like
Construction costs on the Island 18% above UK average and comparable with Outer London
Manx residents 'will probably need to pay more' if they want universal health service
