The Isle of Man and Scottish Governments are to work together to re-establish direct flights between the two countries.
The deadline agreed is before the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow next Summer.
The announcement was made this afternoon at a press conference with Chief Minister Allan Bell and the First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond, who is visiting the island.
Allan Bell says he acknowledges airlines are accountable to their shareholders rather than governments, but is pleased Mr Salmond shares his concerns and will work on the problem:-
