Man who threatened terrorist attack due to be sentenced

38-year-old's actions saw government division 'locked down'

A Douglas man who made threats about a terrorist attack on the Isle of Man will be sentenced this week.

John Anthony Williams, of Cullyn Avenue, admits sending an offensive, indecent or menacing message on 30 June.

The 38-year-old contacted the Manx Industrial Relations Service as part of a grievance he was having with Manx Care telling them: “Let’s see if they have enough beds for my next move.”

He also threatened to ‘slit throats’ at the Office of Human Resources – which resulted in the government division being ‘locked down’.

Sentence is due to take place on Thursday (24 August); Williams has been bailed until then.
