Man pleads guilty to possessing class A, B and C drugs

A Douglas man’s admitted possessing class A, B and C drugs at his girlfriend’s home after police raided the address.

Thirty-one-year-old Ross Arnold Menton of Rosemount appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.

He admitted a total of three charges - possessing cannabis, cocaine and diazepam,
Prosecution advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the court officers executed a warrant at Cronk Grianagh in Braddan on 18 February

Inside, they arrested Menton and another man before searching the home.

The court heard officers found a wrap of cocaine worth £400 in Menton’s pocket, 0.8 grammes of cannabis worth £16 on a kitchen table and an envelope containing 184 diazepam tablets.

Menton said the drugs were for his own use and admitted he didn’t have a prescription for the diazepam pills.

He was bailed in the sum of £500 while the probation service completes a social enquiry report, and is next due to appear for sentencing on 13 October.
