
It's been confirmed a man was killed in an accident on the Mountain Road this morning (Fri 19th)
The incident happened at 7.50am close to the Mountain Box.
The 22 year old local man, who hasn't been named yet, was driving a white Citroen Berlingo van in the direction of Ramsey, when it collided with a blue, high top Ford Transit van travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Ford Transit was taken to Nobles hospital for treatment but is not believed to have life threatening injuries .
The Mountain Road was closed until just before 1.30pm this afternoon while police and emergency services dealt with the incident.
A number of witnesses have already come forward, but Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Mark Newey says anyone who didn't leave their details with officers at the scene, or who may have more information, should get in contact with police headquarters on 631 212
The family of the driver who died have been informed of the incident and police say their thoughts are with them at this time.
