A man under police guard in hospital died in the early hours of this morning, officers have confirmed.
The 27-year-old from Douglas, who has not been named yet, had been arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking offences on Friday evening, and had been at Noble's Hospital under police guard since then.
He reportedly became ill and, despite the efforts of the medical staff to revive him, was pronounced dead.
The police say the man's family has been made aware of the death and a police investigation has been launched.
