Man dies from falling piece of stone at Pooil Vaaish

Health and safety investigation is currently underway

An inquest is due to open into the death of a St John's man who was hit by a falling piece of stone in the south of the Island.

Emergency services responded after a report that 30-year-old Nathan Harvey had suffered 'significant injuries' at Pooil Vaaish Limestone Ltd on 21 June.

He died a short time later.

A health and safety investigation is currently underway.

A statement from the Isle of Man Constabulary said: "Mr Harvey’s death will be subject of inquest and as such only limited information can be released however police confirm that there is no criminal investigation into the circumstances of his death and a health and safety investigation is underway."
