31-year-old's case going to general gaol
A Union Mills man has been accused of stealing his mother's car and driving it to his grandfather's home to carry out a burglary.
Thirty-one-year-old Ryan Kneen, of Close Y Lhergy, appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He denies burglary, stealing a car and driving whilst disqualified on 1 February.
The hearing was told Mr Kneen is said to have driven to his grandfather's home in Douglas, entered through an unlocked door and stolen beer and wine.
Magistrates heard he was the subject of a driving ban at the time.
The bench said their powers of sentencing would be insufficient to hear the case and Mr Kneen would be tried in the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
They remanded him in custody and he's next due to appear in court on 17 March.
