Thirty-three-year-old from Birkenhead yet to enter pleas
A Merseyside man has made legal history after being charged with participating in organised crime.
Thirty-three-year-old James Spotswood, of Townsend Street in Birkenhead, appeared before the Deputy High Bailiff at Douglas Courthouse.
He hasn’t yet entered pleas to two charges of conspiracy and one of participating in a criminal organisation.
Mr Spotswood is the first person on the Island to face that charge under the Island’s Organised and International Crime Act 2010.
He was remanded in custody and is next due to appear on 5 October.
