Hopes for closer working relationship
Malew Parish Commissioners and Port Erin Commissioners have announced a commitment to exploring a closer working relationship on certain matters.
A working group has been created and met for the first time late last month.
Elected members and officers from both authorities identified opportunities for further investigation, ahead of making recommendations to their respective boards.
The collaboration will initially focus on waste services, which is the largest expenditure of both authorities.
They say it has both the scope and remit to expand into other services such as manpower, machinery and IT infrastructure in future, though.
