Majority of public bodies yet to put net zero plans in place

Plans strongly recommended for gov't departments and local authorities

The majority of government departments and local authorities are yet to put plans in place to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

As part of the Climate Change Act, it's strongly recommended that public bodies each put in place a plan providing guidance on how to cut carbon usage within the organisation.

However, the Climate Change Transformation Board has confirmed most are yet to do so, but are working towards developing plans.

The Department of Home Affairs and Douglas Borough Council do have plans, while not all public bodies responded to the board's request for an update.
