Figures show complaints rose before declining again in 2025
New figures released under the Freedom of Information Act show more than five hundred complaints were made about bus driver conduct on the Isle of Man over a five-year period.
The data, published by the Department of Infrastructure, relates to complaints logged between 2021 and 2025 and covers issues including driving standards, customer interaction and behaviour.
According to the figures, the number of complaints rose steadily from 89 in 2021 to a peak of 121 in 2023, before falling slightly to 118 in 2024 and 102 in 2025.
Driving standards accounted for the majority of complaints each year, followed by customer interaction, with a smaller number relating specifically to driver behaviour.
The DOI says it does not hold records on disciplinary outcomes linked to those complaints, explaining that historic staff records are managed by the Office of Human Resources and are not retained by the division once no longer active.
