Investigation was launched after death of Chief Engineer
A UK Marine Accident Investigation Branch report into a fatal accident aboard a Manx registered super-yacht in Antigua almost a year ago, has been sent to interested parties for consultation.
The investigation was launched by the MAIB on behalf of the Isle of Man Ship Registry, after the death of the Chief Engineer aboard the vessel Baton Rouge.
Father of two, Roy Temme from Southampton is understood to have been electrocuted after entering the vessel's engine room during a power outage.
The incident occurred while the Baton Rouge, was alongside at Falmouth Harbour in the Caribbean island on 23rd February 2024.
A team of inspectors from the UK Marine Accident Investigation Branch was flown to the scene to gather evidence and examine the vessel.
The superyacht, Baton Rouge, is a 205 ft charter vessel registered in the Isle of Man and operated by management firm, Burgess.
The investigation has reached the consultation stage, which means enquiries are largely complete and a draft copy of the report has been sent to interested parties for comment.
A preliminary report will be published in due course.
