Telecoms firm to put in new lines
The new Laxey Bridge won't be finally resurfaced until next month but, by then, homes and businesses in the lower part of the village should be enjoying an improvement in communication.
The river crossing was opened to traffic a month ago but there is still significant work to be done.
Manx Telecom are putting in lines to give the area access to high-speed broadband services.
That job should be finished by the end of the month. Then the final road surface will be laid.
There's a road closure until December 9th but the work should be finished before then. The extra days are in case the weather is poor and the work is delayed.
