Michael MHK wants options explored
An MHK says he's still worried about the unintended consequences of 'hasty' state pension reforms.
Among the changes passed in Tynwald last week was a new single-tier benefit of £170 per week, to be phased in by 2019.
The retirement age will also increase to 67 by 2028.
A motion to establish a parliamentary committee to explore the options was defeated.
Its proposer, Michael MHK Alfred Cannan, is disappointed - and fears the proposals will create 'winners and losers':
Construction costs on the Island 18% above UK average and comparable with Outer London
Wind farm debate to continue before committee
Call for compensation scheme for workers who become ill after contact with asbestos
Third candidate to stand for election in Douglas South
