Enterprise Minister admits scheme has a long process to get through
Government says it’s ‘very keen’ to see development on Lord Street but admits progress won’t happen in the near future.
Plans to transform the brownfield site in the capital into 85 apartments, restaurants, retail space, a cinema and a ‘bus information centre’ have been submitted.
The project is being supported by the Island Infrastructure Scheme which provides up to 25 percent funding of the eligible costs of the redevelopment.
But Enterprise Minister Tim Johnston says the scheme still has a long way to go before it could come into fruition:
