Look out for meteors - if the weather stays clear!

A fine meteor display should be visible in Manx skies for the rest of the week - if the clear weather continues.

If conditions are good, tonight (12 Dec) could be the best chance in several years to see the Geminids.

Meteors are rock and dust debris from the tail of a comet long since burnt-off, and in December each year the earth intercepts their orbit.

The summer meteor shower the Perseids were obscured by cloud this year, so Howard Parkin from the Isle of Man Astronomical Soicety has high hopes for this week.
