Manx Gas "baffled"at protest plans
Manx Gas says its doors are open to any customer who wants an explanation of its banding system for standing charges.
That message from Customer Network Services Director Robert Gardner.
He says the company is baffled at plans for a protest later this month against the charge, by followers of a recently-formed Facebook group.
Mr Gardner says the banding system, which aims to separate charges for the fuel from the cost of supplying it, has been in place for well over a year.
He says spreading the charge over 12 months means summer bills, when little gas has been used, appear higher - and that may have triggered the recent unrest:
