Island drinks producer backs measure
An Island-based drinks producer says the introduction of a minimum price per unit of alcohol could only be a positive move.
A court in Scotland voted unanimously on Wednesday to introduce the pricing at 50p a unit, meaning a 70 cl bottle of whisky cannot be sold for less than £14.
Andrew Dixon of Kella Distillers Limited says adopting something similar on Island would mean better quality alcohol, and less consumption of cheap drink.
We'll hear more Mr Dixon on Monday's morning Mandate.
He told Manx Radio, if the measure was introduced, consumers will get smart and choose the better booze.
