Manx Mencap hoping to put its service users in the spotlight
A local charity's hoping to put its service users in the spotlight this Learning Disability Awareness Week.
Starting today (Monday 15 June), the theme this year is 'do you see me'?
Manx Mencap is marking the occasion by hosting a sponsored walk around the Roundhouse in Braddan where everyone will be welcome.
It's taking place between 11am-1pm this morning and hopes to help people with learning disabilities to be seen, heard and valued.
Debs Dixon from the charity says they're hoping to help break down the stigma:
Manx Mencap will also be organising other events throughout Learning Disability Awareness Week.
