36-year-old accused of handling criminal cash
A Liverpool woman has been remanded in prison after being accused of handling criminal cash to the value of nearly £44,000.
Maxine Dormer, of Cavell Close, had a bail application denied during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse.
The 36-year-old allegedly left the Island on 18 July last year and was stopped by Merseyside police who discovered £43,800 in her car.
Dormer will next appear on 25 April; she remains in custody until that date.
Update: On 30 April Miss Dormer was granted bail until her next court appearance on 23 May when she'll be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
Update: At Douglas Courthouse on 27 June committal proceedings - where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery - were challenged. Bail was granted until her next court hearing on 12 July.
Update: Miss Dormer will next appear at the Court of General Gaol Delivery on 31 January 2025.
